Mr. S. Martine and Mrs. S. Kousalya found the VCDS at Attchipakkam
Cultural programme is introduced as a method of education
Non-formal education schools for children are established

Trade unions for salt-pan, stone quarry and agricultural workers are started

Moving to Vellakulam for better transport and communication facilities

Women's Movement is started
